Zambian born songstress and beautiful young Jazz sensation, Louise Fielden has performed at some of the most exclusive Jazz venues across London - 606 Jazz Club, Ronnie Scott's, Annabel's, Mortons and Nylon to name but a few.
Operatically trained from an early age, Louise gained a BA Mus studying at Trinity Music College London and Birmingham Conservatoire where she graduated as a Classical Soprano. Her warm timbre, rich and rounded Soprano voice brings a smooth, unique sound to any Jazz standard such as Gershwin’s 'Summertime' and Peggy Lee’s 'Fever', her favorites being 'Nearness Of You' and 'I've Got You Under My Skin'. Her extensive live performances have created an excellent platform to move into the world of Recording which is the next step in her Agenda.
Louise began singing at the age of 13 when she auditioned for the school choir, singing 'Morning Has Broken', which is when she was invited to take up singing lessons. Through her teacher, Gillian Dawber then the Vocal Head of the Guernesey Music School. Louise discovered she had a wonderful voice and went on to win the award for 'Most Promising Young Singer of the Year' in the 1994, Guernsey Eisteddfod.
At 16 she gained a scholarship to Trinity Music College, London and shortly after moved to the UK where she studied singing privately, training with Mary Weigold and Michael Colman and studying there as a Soprano for five years gaining solo roles in Monthly Operas and Stage Musicals.
For many years Louise received the private vocal tuition of Steven Wilder, Head of Opera at Covent Garden and where she developed an understanding of French, Italian and German, singing in various operatic roles such as Mozart's Marriage of Figaro to Purcell's Dido and Aeneus. Not content with this and drawn to Jazz and the London Jazz scene Louise began master classes with singing sensation Tina May who in turn fuelled Louies's passioin for Jazz singing and encouraged her to explore a career incorporating her well trained voice with the soulful songs of Ella Fitzgerald.
Today Louise can be found performing Jazz, Bosa Nova, Motown and the Blues with favorites - 'My Funny Valetine, All The Things You Are, Comesar de Novo, Agua de Bebe and Baby Love'.
